Well, according to the highly scientific poll run over the past few weeks on DS Online, the result is a perfect split between those who contributed.

While this result does somewhat rain on my analysis parade, it does beg the question:

Who are the haves and who are the have nots?

In the course of over three years of interviewing dealers, there seems to be two distinct types of dealers - progressive and lifestyle. And while making a broad judgement like the following is as highly unscientific as the blog method is of gathering data, Dealer Support has never claimed to be a scientific journal.

As such, I deduce that the haves are probably progressive dealers who are diversifying, chasing new business, embracing new business strategies and mastering the web. The have nots are not, and instead will be reacting to the marketplace with stale and generally ineffective business practice.

That said, the have nots will also probably be flying first class for long holidays in exotic destinations this summer. Does that make them the haves then? I suppose it's all about perspective in the end....
