Pilot UK's Barry Adams has retired after 39 years in the writing instruments industry. He was recently joined by UK, European and Japanese colleagues for a farewell dinner at the On the Thames restaurant near Pilot's UK base in Bourne End, where he was also presented with gardening centre vouchers to enjoy in his retirement.
Adams worked for Pilot UK as national sales manager, having started his career in the pen industry in 1970 as a sales representative for Scripto, followed by 18 years at All Pens, which he owned at the time of its sale to Crown Cards. He joined Pilot UK in 1992 as a territory sales manager, winning the Pilot Sword of Excellence on three separate occasions, before being promoted.
Pilot UK MD Don Skelton told us: "For 39 years our industry has benefited from Barry's exuberance and wealth of knowledge, which will be missed. I wish Barry a long, happy and healthy retirement."
