Mayor of London holds free procurement event

The Mayor of London is holding an event on becoming a green supplier in conjunction with London Remade, a not-for-profit business creating environmental solutions for a sustainable capital. The Green Procurement Code Exchange: Becoming a Green Supplier will take place on Monday, 14 September, 3pm-6.30pm at the America Square Conference Centre in the City.

The rise in environmental regulations and legislation means that sustainability and environmental compliance have become incredibly important issues in the business world. Large companies, especially in the public sector, increasingly expect suppliers to match or exceed their environmental standards.

This event will provide information and advice to small suppliers on improving their environmental credentials and becoming green suppliers to large organisations. Delegates will hear from speakers in the private and public sector on what they are looking for from suppliers and how suppliers can increase their chances of winning contracts.

Confirmed speakers include Andrew MacAskill of Skanska and David Wathey of the NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency.

Following the presentations delegates will get the opportunity to attend an exhibition, where they can get further advice on supplying goods and services to large organisations from the public and private sector. Confirmed exhibitors include Heart of the City and LRS.

The event is free but priority will be given to signatories of the Green Procurement Code but to request a registration form e-mail Jodi@londonremade.com. To sign up to the Green Procurement Code visit http://www.greenprocurementcode.co.uk/?q=user/register.
