As marketing director of Hamelin Paperbrands, well-known industry figure Jane Rowe launched the Pink & Black notebooks in partnership with Breakthrough Breast Cancer, raising nearly £200,000 for the charity through promotional activity over two and a half years.
Now as Spicers' marketing and merchandising director, Rowe has been asked to support Breakthrough Breast Cancer yet again by raising £20,000 to take part in a tandem skydive from around 12,000ft on 22 May 2010.
Rowe is calling on the support of the industry to help Breakthrough Breast Cancer get a step further towards their vision of a future free from the fear of breast cancer and donate to her cause at http://original.justgiving.com/janerowe. For UK taxpayers, Justgiving will add an automatic 28% bonus to a donation at no extra cost.
"As a 'feet firmly on the ground' sort of person, a skydive is a little outside my comfort zone," Rowe commented. "However, with 46,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year and 35 women dying every day from the disease in the UK, it is a small price to pay to help Breakthrough achieve their vision of a world free from the fear of breast cancer. I'd be grateful for any fundraising support, so please dig deep to help this incredible cause. "
