Fleet management to curb OfficeTeam’s carbon emissions

Online fleet tracking supplier Cybit has extended an order for its Fleetstar-Online solution with OfficeTeam. The new deployment is set to provide real-time vehicle information on a further 100 vehicles in OfficeTeam's UK-based fleet servicing its 18 depots and will be used to support corporate strategies to reduce carbon emissions.

"Environmental issues are at the top of the agenda at OfficeTeam and vehicle telematics fits in perfectly with the strategies we already have in place," commented Bill Appleton, group operations director, OfficeTeam. "We use a number of electric vans and have added another 30 Mercedes Sprinters with start/stop technology, with a further 50 on order.

"The expansion of our use of tracking and vehicle reporting technology helps to effectively monitor vehicle usage to ensure that each journey is planned as efficiently and as environmentally friendly as possible. OfficeTeam aims to provide premium services to all of our clients and with the live vehicle information and routing provided by Fleetstar, we will be able to continue to deliver excellent service, whilst lowering the impact of our fleet on the environment through the reduction in the total mileage driven."
