Software house strengthens sales and customer care

ECi Software Solutions has recruited four additional members of staff to complement its existing sales and customer care teams.

Mike Richards takes up the role of support team leader and will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Progress Helpdesk, based in Cambridge. Richards has previously been employed at various blue-chip companies where he had customer-facing roles and has years experience in managing teams of people.

Richards commented: "I am very pleased to join ECi. My number one priority will be to improve communication. Good communication is key to building a solid working relationship with customers. By working with them more closely, we will ensure our customers are better informed of the services our helpdesk can offer, whilst at the same time empowering them to exploit the full suite of services that ECi has. I look forward to working with customers and staff and hope to achieve some great results in the coming months."

Brian Carbarns joins the sales team. Coming from a European sales background, he worked across a wide variety of market sectors from manufactured goods to highly technical IT telecom solutions. Carbarns will initially be responsible for selling EasyOrder, ECi's current eCommerce offering to corporate businesses across Europe.

Carol Ellis is appointed as sales lead generator and will specifically support the efforts of our sales consultants in the field. Ellis is a telesales professional with over 20 years of experience across a variety of industries.

Bas van den Beukel takes overall responsibility for the team of EasyOrder Consultants based in the Netherlands. Van den Beukel joins the team after almost 10 years with IT group Infor Global Solutions. As professional services manager, he established their professional services organisation in the Benelux and then moved to the position of professional services director for their Asia/Pacific region, where he was responsible for a team of over 50 consultants and revenue in excess of $10m. Van den Beukel said he is very enthusiastic about working in a smaller organisation more like the one in which he started his consulting career.

Michiel Bakker joins the consulting team and his main role will be to support Easy Order and Bridge customer base in Europe. He has a background in consulting and joins ECi from Mambo Five, an eCommerce supplier in the Netherlands. Before Mambo Five, he lived in the US and worked for Radius Solutions, an ERP provider, in Chicago and California.

Paola White, VP sales for ECi commented: "It's great to be able to recruit, particularly in such turbulent economic times. Business is good and we need our team to expand to help us continue to support our ever-growing customer base."
