Dealer secures national framework agreement

One of the UK's largest, independently owned office supplies companies, Commercial Group, has successfully won a place on a Buying Solutions framework agreement to supply office products to public sector customers nationwide valued at £300m over a possible four year period.

Commercial is one of only two companies appointed to operate across all four categories of the framework agreement providing what has been described as a ‘one stop shop' to Central Government Departments and their Agencies, Non Departmental Public Bodies, NHS Bodies, Local Authorities, Emergency Services and Educational Establishments.

Buying Solutions, the national procurement partner for UK public services, awarded an initial two year framework agreement to Commercial following a rigorous competitive tender which saw the company compete along with much larger suppliers in the field.

The framework covers a broad range of office supplies products, including desktop office supplies, general, business and specialist stationery, paper, electronic office supplies, electronic storage media, small business machines and destruction and/or recycling of electronic media, paper matter and computer consumables.

"This is a fabulous achievement for the company," said Simone Mann, co-founder of Commercial Group. "The team has worked incredibly hard and it has certainly paid off. This opportunity marks a watershed in the development of our business, mirroring our success in local government and national private sector contracts.

"We are extremely pleased our commitment to driving intelligent procurement solutions have been valued so highly resulting in our appointment to this Framework Agreement," she continued.

"Over the past three years we have worked to balance such areas as quality of service, product range and cost efficiencies and align them with our environmental programme. It's a formula that has truly set us apart and ensures we remain a key supplier for public sector organisations."

In addition, the win has consolidated Commercial's target of doubling its turnover by 2011.

"It's an exciting time," added Simone. "The framework agreement is an incredible opportunity to move into a market that, hitherto, has been a closed door to us. We are very much looking forward to showcasing our expertise and extending the cost benefits other sectors have been able to enjoy by working with us."
