AF holds industry charity event for Barnardo’s

Dealers and suppliers head to Drayton Manor for a day of fundraising fun

AF International, specialist suppliers of ICT cleaning products, will be holding its first fundraising event for children's charity Barnardo's at Drayton Manor Park and Zoo on 16 September.

Since March 2007, AF has supported Barnardo's through a variety of staff fundraising activities and the sale of branded AF products.

AF marketing manager Karen Harrison said: "The aim is to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charity Barnardo's but also create a fun and exciting industry networking event. We have tried to leave it very open, in order to gain support from as many dealers and resellers as possible they have an option to attend the day event, evening event or both depending on what suits their busy schedule."

Martin Field, Barnardo's UK director of fundraising commented: "At Barnardo's, we work directly with more than 100,000 children, young people and their families every year running vital projects across the UK. AF International is playing an important part in helping even the most vulnerable children turn their lives around, by raising money. We are so grateful to the staff at AF for their endeavours, other vendors in the industry that are supporting the event and the dealers and customers that purchase AF products."

The charity event will start with networking at in the Tower Suite at Drayton Manor Park and Zoo and then a fun afternoon around the theme park including a treasure hunt to win fabulous prizes that have been donated by various sponsors. The evening will consist of dinner, fun games, further fund raising activities and partying until late.

Currently from every AF branded product sold within the UK £0.02 is donated directly to Barnardo's. Within AF, the team has been eager to help support the charity initiative. From daring sky dives, collecting food for Christmas hampers, donating computer equipment to a local Stepping Forward Barnardo's facility to internal raffles and competitions, AF is dedicated to its chosen charity and the partnership and this event aims to add at least a further £5,000 to their fund raising total in 2010.
