Beta has announced "significant investment" in a new dealer development programme and has appointed the Business Performance (BP) Group to run it.
"Over the past 18 months we have had considerable success in growing our business in the office products dealer community," commented Beta MD Steve Soper. "Partnerships with most of the buying groups have been an important part of this as well as our success in selling EOS.
"EOS remains a key part of our proposition and we can help dealers better manage their EOS business. However, we believe that there are some key dealers who are missing out on the opportunity to grow their business in some of the other product areas that we distribute."
Soper believes that pressure on resources and heavy work loads are the main barriers to dealers achieving business growth. He cites the BP Group's ability to work with Dealers on development projects as the core reason for Beta partnering with them to deliver this programme.
The BP Group is now on the look out for suitable dealers to join the Beta scheme. "In the first instance we have established some key criteria that we believe dealers need to meet in order to benefit from this programme," said Luke Chapman, MD of the BP Group. "Once we have identified potential candidates we will sign up those dealers who see the long term benefits to their business of joining and are prepared to commit the necessary resource to make it work."
Every Dealer who joins the programme will be helped to expand into new product areas and improve their EOS business. Coaching in core sales and new business skills are at the heart of the programme, supported by product training in new markets, such as audio visual products. Dealers will also have access to personalised marketing including catalogues and mailers to support their move into these new markets.
"The total package is probably worth over £700 per month for each dealer, so it represents a significant financial commitment on behalf of Beta," said Chapman.
Dealers who join will be given geographic exclusivity and the overall number of dealers is likely to be limited.
