Wholesaler Spicers has promoted Mark Watson to Southern regional sales director from the role of regional sales director - London and South East.
Watson's appointment follows a review of the UK sales structure, which has resulted in the South West and Midlands region being merged with the London and South East region to form the Southern region.
The changes have occurred as a result of Andrew Burnett, sales director for the Midlands and South West, leaving his role at the end of August. He will be leaving the industry to work as business sector controller for drinks firm Diageo. Burnett had 18 years previous experience working for a brewery prior to his role at the wholesaler. "Because I'm leaving it gives [Spicers] an opportunity to look at how they approach their regional business," he commented.
Bruce Davie will continue in his role as regional sales director for Scotland and Northern England, in addition to his duties as Glasgow director of service.
Jason Barnes, UK Sales Director at Spicers, said: "I am delighted to announce the promotion of Mark to head up the newly formed Southern Region. I am confident that both Mark and Bruce have the experience and leadership qualities required to deliver all the exciting initiatives Spicers is undertaking to support & grow our dealer partner business in the coming years, and drive profitable sales growth for all parties."
