Future chairs to be filled by rotation

Graeme Chapman, MBE, part-time chairman of Office Friendly Dealer Association for the past seven years, is to retire at the end of this year, having been in the office supplies industry for 43 years.

During his time, Chapman held senior management positions within Acco, Kingfield Heath and Office Friendly, where he has been working with MD Steve Harrop to grow the dealer group.

Chapman was awarded the MBE by the Queen in the Millennium Honours list for his charity fundraising. He says he will continue raising funds for the Institute of Cancer Research in his retirement.

The Office Friendly board has decided to fill future chairs by rotating member directors, who have been elected by the membership.

Elliot Jacobs, commercial director of London-based UOE and Office Friendly director of eight years, will take over from Graeme in January.

Jacobs said: "It is an honour and privilege to be elected to this role. Graeme has done a truly fantastic job of steering a successful and steady path over many years and I look forward to helping OFDA move forward again with the support of our members and assistance of a first class central team, lead by Steve Harrop."
