Shares of interactive whiteboard company dive

Released 26/08/2010

The Lancashire-based education technology firm Promethean has lost a fifth of its share value despite a rise in profits.

The firm said their first-half gross margins have fallen from 46% to 42.8%

Jon Fletcher, of Altium Securities, said: "Promethean will have to have a particularly strong second half in order to reach its outlook expectations."

Promethean sells interactive whiteboards, stands and projectors, specialist teaching software and other equipment.

The firm supplies whiteboards and other technology to schools in 100 countries and said it would open its first office in the Middle East, in Bahrain, in the second half of this year.
