Don’t underestimate apprenticeships says Office Monster

Office Monster, the online office supplier, is championing apprenticeships and warning businesses not to dismiss the benefits, as the company works with Eden Training Solutions to find two further candidates to add to its growing team.

Having successfully appointed Casey Hanlan (20) to the role of Business Admin Apprentice more than six-months ago, the business has quickly recognised the value in having an employee that has access to vocational learning and practical experience.

As an organisation that is hoping to double its turnover in the next 12-months, Office Monster is looking for people with the right approach and attitude; fitting in with the fast-paced and fun-loving culture of the brand.

Director of Office Monster, Ryan Ward said: “The most difficult part of any business is finding the right people, it’s such a challenge. When we met with Eden and they suggested apprenticeships, I have to admit, we had our reservations. Thankfully we are always willing to try something new and looking back it’s one of the best decisions we’ve made.

“Businesses are put off because they expect to get people with no enthusiasm or commitment and that simply isn’t true. Eden have shown us that the process is similar to that of any recruitment process. We would encourage other businesses to consider it and give someone who prefers work to workbooks a chance.”

Casey Hanlan explained: “After studying beauty at college for three years, I realised it just wasn’t for me and instead became interested in business. The challenge was that I had no experience so found it difficult to find a job.

“I had always assumed apprenticeships were for school leavers, so hadn’t even considered it until I came across an advert for a vacancy with Office Monster. Soon after applying for the role, Eden contacted me to arrange a meeting and I couldn’t believe how easy the whole process was. Becoming an apprentice is the best decision I have ever made.”

Eden Training Solutions, the organisation that is dedicated to finding suitable candidates, matching them to the right roles and supporting them throughout their training, works alongside Office Monster on an ongoing basis to meet with its apprenticeship requirements.
