Solcrown appoints Gavin Smith as Director of Sales

Solcrown Business Supplies has announced the immediate appointment of Gavin Smith as Director of Sales.

Gavin’s appointment coincides with a major milestone in the history of the business, which will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in November this year.

Gavin’s recruitment is part of ongoing investment in the growth and development of the company whose focus is on excellence, flexibility and responsiveness to customers.

“I am very excited Gavin has agreed to join us. He brings nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience and I am confident he will quickly have a very positive impact on the business,” said James Bates, Managing Director.

In his previous role at independent dealer JKL Solutions, Gavin had responsibility for all aspects of sales and marketing, which saw them crowned winners at the BOSS Federation Dealer Excellence Awards. Prior to that Gavin had a successful sales career at contract stationer Lyreco where he was promoted from Key Account Manager to Field Sales Director in just eight years.

The dealer says that strengthening the sales capability within Solcrown at a senior level will help leverage the company’s infrastructure and expert buying power, ensuring the delivery of a robust, cost effective and efficient solution tailored to customer requirements.

The provision of office and business supplies across all market segments and sectors is changing rapidly giving rise to significant opportunities for independent dealers such as Solcrown to grow and develop particularly in the area of true single source supply.
